The Coast Guard has extended the period for comments on it's proposed Small Passenger Vessel rule changes, to February 6, 2009.

New Passenger Weights
Note that the new passenger weight to be used is 185 pounds per person. Also note that the "K" value in the Passenger-Heel criterion of 46 CFR 171.050 must now be taken as 18.16 rather than 24.
